Restore Advanced Appropriations for Rail and Transit!

Instead of passing a clean, straightforward extension of existing transportation law, the Senate opted to strip out guaranteed advance appropriations for passenger rail and public transportation that were explicitly enacted under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA)

Cutting these multi-year guaranteed funds destabilizes critical passenger rail expansion, delays essential transit maintenance, and undermines local communities and workers who rely on safe, reliable, and accessible transportation networks every day.  Transportation infrastructure requires long-term certainty - not sudden funding rollbacks that halt momentum on long-overdue regional and national passenger rail projects.

The good news? This is only a short-term extension that would only run through December 11th.

We’re asking you to use the form below to express (via email and social media) your frustration and disappointment with the elimination of guaranteed funding for rail and transit, and your demand to see these funds restored as part of any long-term solution.
